Pilates is a unique approach to physical conditioning, developed and perfected by Joseph H. Pilates. It involves the disciplined use of Gratz apparatus and more than 700 original exercises to lengthen and strengthen the human body. It is a mindful approach that demands concentration, attention to correct form and breath control.

After Joe Pilates passed away, Romana Kryzanowska inherited his New York City studio and preserved the Pilates’ legacy by traveling the world for six decades, educating the next generation of Pilates instructors. Romana’s Pilates separates itself from other Pilates disciplines through its rigorous and comprehensive training program requiring apprentices to complete more than 700 hours of observation, teaching and practicing. Ramona’s Pilates includes a global network of instructors committed to meeting the standards implemented by Joseph Pilates. At Sharp Pilates, we are committed to Joseph Pilates' legacy, and strive to teach with the same quality, passion, and depth of knowledge. The significance and importance of the 'lineage' ensures the purity and high standard of the work is maintained for future practices and teachings, where the core principle 'Integration of the mind to strengthen the body and energize the spirit' is maintained.  This ensures clients receive quality and consistency with every lesson.
