Pilates is a unique approach to physical conditioning, developed and perfected by Joseph Pilates. It involves the disciplined use of Gratz Pilates apparatus (Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, to name a few) and more than 700 original exercises to lengthen and strengthen the human body. It is a mindful approach that demands concentration, attention to correct form and breath control. ROMANA'S PILATESAfter Joseph Pilates passed away, Romana Kryzanowska inherited his New York City studio and preserved the Pilates’ legacy by educating the next generation of Pilates instructors. Romana’s Pilates® separates itself from other Pilates disciplines through its rigorous and comprehensive training program, requiring apprentices to complete more than 700 hours of observation, teaching and practicing. This ensures the purity, high standard and core principle—integration of the mind to strengthen the body and energize the spirit—of classical Pilates is maintained.

WHAT TO EXPECTSharp Pilates offers private and semi-private (up to 3 people) classical Pilates classes, focusing on each client’s unique fitness goals and level of experience. Romana’s Pilates®-trained instructors guide you through a series of precise, controlled movements targeting all muscle groups while working on posture, strength, endurance and flexibility. Be prepared to sweat!
